Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Elk Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover. A cover like this is going to serve at least two purposes for you, you can show your love of the great outdoors while at the same time, keeping your hitch receiver free and clear of any kind of rust or dirt buildup. Frequently, whenever you leave your hitch receiver open, it can build up with rust and debris that can make it a little more difficult to insert your accessories such as your bike rack, so by having this hitch cover installed, you're going to be keeping the inside of your receiver clean while showing your love for the great outdoors. Now, this is an entirely plastic tube cover, and so, it's a very durable plastic, and it has this acrylic face here that features this beautiful elk, and this is going to fit your 1 1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. Now, this is going to be a quick installation, the cover's going to slide easily into your hitch receiver. It does require a hitch pin and clip, that is not included with this, so if you are in need of that, on your screen, I am including our item number for the pin and clip that will work for this, just put that item number in the search field of our website here at etrailer.com, and it will take you to that pin and clip.
Now, let me go ahead and give you some overall dimensions to make sure that this is going to work out for you. Looking at the overall width, we are sitting right at about 5 1/8 inches across, and then looking at the overall height, we're sitting right at about 3 7/8 inches tall. And looking at the back of the cover here, I'm putting my ruler up to the back of the cover, so from the back of the cover to the center of our hitch pin hole, we're sitting right at about 3 3/8 inches, and then if I line up my ruler, at the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of this shank, we're sitting right at about 5/8 of an inch. I bought this for a Subaru Forester with a factory trailer hitch. It looks attractive and doesn't protrude enough from the back bumper so I'll be hitting my shins on it. I'd like a mallard picture but took the elk as there is no mallard.
The product, trailer hitch receiver, worked great. Took less than 2 hours to install. Great prices, and they even gave me free shipping, and then upgraded it to 3-5 days for free! Highly recommend this company! I bought this to give me more room for camping gear, and vacations! I even love the American flag hitch cover!

My husband and I have recently started cycling and needed a 1 1/4 hitch for our Rav4 to support a good bike rack. This is a good looking hitch flag. It has a clear plastic coating and is well made. It fits my hitch perfectly. I used my hitch pin to secure it, but it comes with a plastic clip-type device to secure it. It was on back-order, but I got good info about that from etrailer when I called when it didn't arrive within the indicated delivery time. The etrailer person was very nice and apologetic about the delay. No problems.
I like this patriotic touch to my hitch when not using the ball.
I purchased a DWD hitch cover many years ago. I backed my pickup up a couple of feet to work on it. My wife hit the wrong garage door button. The garage door came down and broke my hitch cover. I found what I was looking for on CAFE PRESS, however, it was not in stock. A telephone call revealed that they are out of stock, and don't have any idea when or if it will ever be stocked again. I found the blank DWD hitch cover, removed my face plate with a hot glue gun, and used epoxy glue to reattach it to the new black DWD cover. The hitch cover was an exact match to the one that was broken. Thanks for stocking this item!
Someone stole my trailer hitch so I decided to install an American Flag cover so the receiver wouldn't rust. Ordered from eTrailer and got extremely fast shipping. The product its self is very large, much larger than it appears in the picture. The part that extends off the back of the flag is at least six inches long. The plastic is alright quality and the holes lined up nicely.
Excellent product for the price alone! Was having difficulty finding a Golden State Warrior themed hitch cover for 1-1/4". Although the hitch cover sticks out a bit too much for my preference (which can be easily drilled to solve this issue), I am very happy with the ability to custom design the image for this blank trailer hitch cover. Worth the price and the blank cover alone.
I just received Hidden Hitch for Honda Odyssey 2010, and Receiver Cover yesterday. I Installed the next day took 45 minutes by myself. The whole installation was pretty smooth and easy. looked great on my Honda. Especially, the hitch receiver cover looked great if you do not use for the hitch trailer. I recently put a front receiver on my pick up and bought this flag receiver cover to go under my veterans license plate. It looks good now, but it's made of plastic and I live in Arizona so I'll be watching to see how it holds up to the heat and bright sun without fading.
The hitch cover is every bit as nice as described and makes for a nice addition to my truck. Very well finished, the detail is great, and so far is very robust and not getting dingy or dinged up. A great product.
My only complaint is a self imposed one. I made a mistake in ordering it and should have gotten the one for the 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" hitch instead so it doesn't fit like it should.
Just order the right size and you won't be disappointed!
Great product, I wish it made from alluminum or steel then plastic. It's does look great and help cover the hitch from dust getting in. The fitting is a little lose not really tight fit, so there noised rattling I had to put a electrical tape a round that help a little. Other wise is look great but I'm not plan to put on all the time anyway.
Product is good but would be better if it was made of a more durable material. I broke the first one backing into a parking stall. Since it was on my wife's car I had to replace it! It does look nice and keeps the hitch socket clean. The original has been on for four years and did a great job protecting the hitch from any corrosion.

Great product and well made. Needed only minor modification such as drilling new hitch pin hole in different location. Personalized by creating brass silluette image of F-105D Thunderchief fighter bomber. Coated display area with epoxy too protect and secure.
My hitch receiver cover that came with my order is completely plastic and snaps in place It is kind of loose. Not entirely happy with this product. would much rather have the one shown that is held in place with the pin. And preferably metal
This hitch cover is of higher quality than I was expecting. The photo on the webpage doesn't really show how good this will look on your truck. I had originally intended to place a sticker on the window, but this was offered while I bought another product. I took a small chance and added it to the order and was immediately impressed when I popped it into place, stepped back, and admired its appearance. Very happy with it.

Not what I expected! I for some reason was expecting a electric ,lighted receiver plug . If this thing sells for 40 some bucks , it's a rip . Even at 7 some bucks I question the value. It should be included as a free gift for larger purchases upon request.

On the cover to make it fit even with the bumper, I had two make two new holes for the lock pin, no big problem, and it looks great.
